As I said, they really are
heroes. The lady in the middle is the boss, a PWS Ranger.
They had just finished their work day. They have nine days on and
five off and work from 8 to 5. This crew was working on the track
at Lake Vera, leading to Frenchmans Cap. A Herculean effort,
absolutely incredible effort. The Parks and Wildlife Service of
Tasmania have done bushwalkers and the environment a great service by
putting so much resources to maintaining the tracks. The other
Australian states could learn from them. I would gladly pay an
equivalent fee they charge for park entry for walkers in my home state
if they used the money on track maintenance. |
