Perito Moreno Glaciar is one of the few glaciers that continues to grow.  Located about an hours drive west of El Calafate, Argentina, it is the destination of thousands of tourists a year that come by the busload.  I hired a car for a quick trip one autumn afternoon.  Calafate is a booming town that serves no purpose other than to act as a stopover for people visiting Perito Moreno and hikers and climbers visiting Fitz Roy.
